8 day program with guide. 6 lodging nights at smaller family-run inns / hotels. The scooter tour starts at the Arctic Circle where the northern lights and crunching snow make the scenery impressively beautiful. Here you will meet our English-speaking Guide who gives us a taste of how to drive a scooter, dog and reindeer sled. We get a clue as to how our great adventure for eight days will come about. Fully dressed, it is time to travel in the arctic wilderness with the scooter. Over glaciers and through forests the road goes towards the Swedish border and the Torne River. There are many wildlife here and we often stop to enjoy the total silence - at an open fire, Tipi for a lovely lunch made by nature's pantry, such as souvas (lightly smoked reindeer thighs), forest mushrooms and almond potatoes.

Day 1  Arrival hotel Santa Claus or anequivalent hotel, Santa Claus centro and Articum en Rovaniemi, Finland. Aurora borealis viewing at night. Collection from Rovaniemi Airport at 18.00 for transfer to the City of Rovaniemi. 
Day 2  Snowmobile, Jolanki, Finland – Övertorneå, Sweden (Tornio River.)

Day 3  Snowmobile, Övertorneå (Tornio River.)  – Överkalix, Sweden.

Day 4  Driving a dog sled, Morjärv – Kalix river –  Mansion of Filipsborg (Kalix.)

Day 5  Driving a reindeer sleigh and Ice fishing at Baltic Sea (The largest continuous ice floe in Europe.)

Day 6  Driving a dog sled, Isle of Råneå – Baltic Sea – UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gammelstad Church Town.

Day 7  Transport to Jokkmokk. Museum of Àjtte. North Sami session: Sami handicraft, historia and yoiking. Yoik is a traditional form of song in Sámi music and a culinary lunch. Then on the world famous Icehotel.

Day 8  In the morning viewing of the red-painted timber-framed church from the 18th century / Own time. The only one of its kind in Sweden. Return from Kiruna airport around 2 p.m or another extra night at the Icehotel.
